ReptiCalcium® is an ultra-fine precipitated calcium carbonate supplement powder containing vitamin D3. It is a phosphate-free calcium supplement for reptiles and amphibians. It has a unique shape/high surface area per gram, which increases calcium bioavailability and is easier for reptiles to absorb. However, the digestion of calcium requires vitamin D3, and the main source of vitamin D3 is sunlight. Therefore, Zoo Med adds vitamin D3 to ReptiCalcium for use by people who raise reptiles indoors.
